Science Instructor Trainee, Part-time

If so, you may be right for the role of Rock-it Science Instructor Trainee at our laboratory classroom in Santa Clara. At Rock-it Science, we use crazy stories in combination with exciting hands-on experiments to make kids enthusiastic about learning science.

Job Responsibilities:

Minimum age 18.

As a Science Instructor Trainee, you’ll learn how to teach science using the Rock-it Science method. You’ll tell crazy stories, present science demos, and direct the students in performing hands-on experiments. You’ll also pass out supplies, do prep and cleanup, track attendance, and print various reports as needed.

Rate, Days and Hours

During the school year, we conduct science enrichment classes for homeschool students three days a week, Tuesday – Thursday. During the summer, we offer several weeks of summer camps that run 5 days a week, full time.

As a Trainee, you would be paid $15.50/hr during the current school year and the coming summer. By the end of summer, you will have had an opportunity to learn about 50 of our lessons, and you would be considered for a position as a Rock-it Science Instructor beginning with the Fall session.

(The rate for a fully-trained Instructor is $25 per hour of in-class teaching time. Training, prep, and cleanup time is paid at $15.50/hr. Hours are part-time, determined by which classes you teach.)
