"Straw Towers" Trailer

Students receive a supply of straws, tape, paper, rubber bands, and a three-pound weight. Then they try to construct a tower to hold the weight at least three feet high. This relates to structures, elasticity, center of mass, friction, and teamwork. This video also includes one of Mr. Mac’s crazy stories, “Jack and Jill and the Fire Ant Nectar,” to help students remember the lesson. Difficulty: Easy
