2026 Summer Science Camps
This Summer we will be offering full day science camps for kids ages 6-12 in Cupertino! Week long camps will run from 9 am to 3 pm combining exciting experiments, storytelling, free exploration STEM activities, and more! Camp Themes
It’s Elemental!
Explore science through elementals!
Dates: June 15-19 and July 27-31, ages 6-12
- Crystal Growing — Can you grow crystals overnight?
- Wind Power — Create electricity using the power of wind!
- Water Bottle Rockets — Use air pressure to propel a rocket the length of the parking lot!
- Burning Power of the Sun — Melt a penny with the sun!
- Erosion — How do streams form and landscapes change?
- Wind Powered Cars — Can you make a car that sails with the wind?
- Lightbulb Filaments — Which wire burns the brightest!
- Siphons — How can you make water flow uphill?
- Waterwheels — Create power with flowing water!
- Candle in a Jar — Can you fit inside a bubble?
- Grass Heads — Create a friend with wild green hair!
- Flying Cylinders and Paper Helicopters — Create unique aircraft out of paper!
- Balloon Rockets — Can you make a two stage rocket out of balloons?
- Floating Whiteboard Drawings — Create drawings that float on water!
Engineering Design!
Explore engineering, design, and build!
Dates: July 6-10 and August 3-7, ages 6-12

- Crash Test Cars — Can you build a car that will keep that egg safe as it rolls down a hill and crashes into a wall?
- Gyroscopes — Create a motorized gyroscope that will keep a cd balanced on it’s edge!
- Robotic Hands — Build a robotic hand!
- Catapults — How far can you launch a projectile with elastic energy?
- Paddle Boats — Create your own paddle boat!
- Ropes and Pulleys — Can you lift your friend?
- Newton’s Cradle — Create your own Newton’s Cradle!
- Take Apart — How does it work? Take it apart to find out!
- Building Off a Cliff — How far can you stack blocks out from the edge of a cliff?
- Trebuchets — Use potential energy to launch a projectile across the parking lot!
- Stomp Planes — Can you create a plane that will spiral down after being launched like a rocket?
- Paper Power — How much weight can you hold off the floor with a single sheet of paper?
- Rube Goldberg Machine — Take simple machines and combine them into a wacky creation!
Tame the Wild!
Use science to purify water, start fires, cook food, and more!
Dates: July 13-17, ages 6-12
- Hand Crank Electricity — Create electricity with kid power!
- Fire from the Sun — Start a fire with a magnifying glass and pop popcorn with the sun!
- Water Filtration — How clean can you get that muddy water?
- Distillation — Use the water cycle to purify water!
- Solar Ovens — Can you make s’mores without a campfire?
- Creating Compasses — Use a magnet to find your way!
- Solar Water Heaters — Boil water with solar energy!
- Building Shelter — Can your shelter keep you dry in a rain shower?
- Wet Fire Starting — Which fire starters work when they are wet?
- Boiling Water in a Leaf — Can you boil water in a leaf?
- Oil Lamps — How can you make an oil lamp to light your camp?
- Chemistry of Hand Warmers — Explore crystallization, catalysts, and oxidation create two types of hand warmers.
Location
For the Summer of 2026 our camps will be held at St. Jude’s Episcopal Church in Cupertino. In addition to our indoor, air conditioned classroom the campus includes shaded, outdoor tables, a playground, and space both on grass and on a blocked off parking lot for larger, wetter, and messier experiments!

St. Jude’s is located at 20902 McClellan Road in Cupertino. It is situated on three acres of land at the southeast corner of Stelling and McClellan Roads, diagonally across from DeAnza College. You can enter the parking lot from either road.
